The Executive President of The Center of Awareness Global Peace Mission, Dr. Samuel Ato Duncan has blamed the spate of global violence and intolerance on the appalling leadership across the world.

He was speaking at a press encounter on the Peace Mission’s Second Lecture ahead of the launch of The Center of Awareness Global Peace Mission International at the Kofi Annan Peace Conference Centre in Accra.

Dr. Ato Duncan pointed out that leadership has failed the world in promoting and sustaining peace amongst peoples of the world and are rather espousing policies of divisiveness and hatred. He called for a situational change in aid of serving people and championing their growth and development.

According to Dr. Duncan, The Global Peace Mission International which comes off on December 19th this year, will be aimed at conscientising world leaders on the adverse impact of the lack of peace and outline more practical ways in establishing and ensuring the existence of peace in the world.

He outlined the programme for the Second Public Lecture on Peace and said it will be preceded by a peace procession involving the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Fire Service, The Ghana Armed Forces, The Ghana Immigration Service from The Independence Square through the Accra Sports Stadium to The Accra International Conference Centre in Accra.

Dr. Ato Duncan put out that the world’s leadership problem has brought in its wake untold suffering to people. He added that it has imperative to find a better and a more comprehensive strategy to equip world leaders in their roles as promoters of peace and wellbeing their peoples. He said that strategy is what The Center of Awareness Global Peace Mission International event is set to put out to the world.

“If world leaders were aware of the importance of man in fulfilling God’s purpose for the world they would champion policies and initiate strategies that would inure to their populace. Symposia, seminars and for a are not what will equip world leaders to enable them strategise effectively for peace.”, Dr. Duncan added.

He said the second public lecture will provide a hands-on training for them to get apprised on how the whole world can be a better place for all mankind.

The event is expected to be attended by former presidents, representatives of foreign missions in Ghana ,civil society groups(CSOs) ,traditional leaders, members of parliament, security personnel, students and heads of educational institutions.
