The CEO of COA Research and Manufacturing Limited Company Professor Samuel Ato Duncan has made a passionate appeal to government and stakeholders to help local businesses in the Central Region develop global mindsets as that is what will help them expand their scope of operations.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Central Region Expo 2023 at the Adisadel College Park in Cape Coast on Monday, Professor Duncan noted that in order to spur economic growth it is important that small businesses are supported to expand beyond their immediate environments. This, he said, will lead to job creation thereby stimulating economic activities.
Touting the uniqueness of the Central Region and its potentials for economic development, Professor Duncan noted that the region had not been able to identify, package and promote these potentials in order to attract the needed investments.
He commended the Regional Minister, Hon. Justina Marigold Assan and his team at the Central Regional Coordinating Council in organizing the exhibition while expressing the preparedness of his company to continuously support such worthy initiatives.
“I was delighted when, under the leadership of the Honourable Regional Minister, Mrs. Justina Marigold Assan, we saw the revival of an event of this nature. My company, the COA Research and Manufacturing Limited Company Limited saw the need to lend our support and so last year, we were part of the major sponsors. We decided to come on board again this year as the lead sponsor because of the importance we attach to events like this with the potential of turning around the fortunes of the region,” he noted.
On her part, the Central Regional Minister, noted that aim of instituting the Trade Exhibition is to stimulate economic activities in different parts of the region and beyond, while at the same time harnessing the economic potentials and to promote the development of agro business.
She noted that the Regional Coordinating Council is also committed to the promotion of domestic tourism and thereby attract private sector investment into the region.
Touching on the theme, “Sustaining Business Opportunities: Nurturing Small Scale Entreprises in Central Region,” the Regional Minister observed that this years’ Expo which has attracted some 400 exhibitors both locally and internationally seeks to build on the successes of last year. She expressed gratitude to the COA Research and Manufacturing Company and other sponsors for their continuous support.
The Chairman for the occasion, Odeefuo Amoakwa Boadu VIII, who also doubles as the President of the Central Regional House of Chiefs appealed to investors to choose the central region as their ultimate investment destination as the region offers them a conducive environment to make their businesses flourish.
