The Chief Executive Officer of the COA Research and Manufacturing Company Limited, Professor Samuel Ato Duncan has challenged the leadership of the Central Regional Coordinating Council, CRCC to work closely with the relevant stakeholders in helping small and medium-scale business operators in the region develop global mindsets as far as their businesses are concerned.
He observed that the focus of business operators producing or providing services for the local market tends to make them complacent and subsequently limits their potential.
Professor Duncan made this call during the official launch of the Central Expo 2023 at the Banquet Hall of the CRCC on Wednesday, April 26th, 2023.
Delivering a speech as the guest speaker for the launch, Professor Duncan noted that small and medium scale businesses are vehicles for job creation in an economy like ours. He stressed the need for leadership to help these entrepreneurs develop global mindsets as the world is now in the digital age.
Recounting the experience from last years edition of the Central Expo, Professor Duncan applauded the hard work of the Central Regional Minister and his Team for the sacrifices they are making to spearhead the growth of businesses in the region by creating such platforms to help expose and connect them with investors.
He appealed to the CRCC to ensure that they get the regional leadership of the Ghana Journalists Association, GJA, to buy into the development agenda of the region and solicit their active participation in order to bring the message home to all.
He therefore pledged the support of his company, the COA Research and Manufacturing Company Limited towards this year’s Expo.
The Central Regional Minister, Hon. Mrs. Marigold Assan, on her part, commended the CEO COA-RMCL and his team for the various support that the company has extended to the CRCC in the implementation of their programmes.
The President of the Central Regional House of Chiefs, Odeefuo Amoakwa Buadu VIII who was chair for the occasion announced that his outfit is committed to ensuring that this initiative is sustained for the region as it presents businesses with the opportunity for growth.
The 2023 Central Expo is scheduled to take place from the 25th of August to the 2nd of September 2023 at the Adisadel College School Park. It is on the theme “Sustaining Business Opportunities: Nurturing SMEs in Central Region.
