HCOWA Seeks Collaboration with COA Research and Manufacturing Company Limited in the Establishment of Chinese Medicinal Research Institute in the Central Region.

In a groundbreaking move toward combating malaria, a delegation from the Health Community of West Africa (HCOWA) paid a visit to the COA Research and Manufacturing Company Limited. Led by Anna Jiang, the HCOWA team outlined their ambitious plans to collaborate with COA RMCL in the establishment of a Chinese Medicinal Research Institute in the Central region of Ghana.

HCOWA aims to develop preventive medicine against malaria. Highlighting the significance of this partnership, Professor Samuel Ato Duncan, the esteemed CEO of COA RMCL, expressed his enthusiasm for the joint endeavour. He remarked that this collaboration would open doors to explore Chinese medicinal expertise in the quest to combat one of Africa’s most pervasive health challenges – malaria.

Dr. Grace Bimpong, the Acting Deputy CEO for COA RMCL emphasized the strategic importance of establishing a Chinese medicinal research institute in the Central region of Ghana. She noted that this initiative would mark a historic milestone as it would be the first of its kind in the region.

Malaria remains a pressing concern in many parts of Africa, including Ghana. This collaboration promises to harness the wealth of knowledge and resources from both organizations, with the ultimate goal of delivering groundbreaking preventive medicine.

It is anticipated that this institute will serve as a hub for innovation, research, and education in the field of traditional Chinese medicine, further strengthening healthcare capabilities in the region.
